Nick Bell was a redshirt sophomore at Mississippi State University. He had earned the starting defensive end job and was ready to produce for the Bulldogs. Then, after the second game of the season, he started to experience headaches and numbness in his arms and legs. He was diagnosed as having a malignant tumor in his brain and had surgery on October 1st.
It was believed that Bell would be on his way to a full recovery after the removal of the tumor, but his condition took a turn for the worst on Oct. 23rd after he went to visit his teammates for the game versus Alabama-Birmingham. Bell had emergency surgery on November 2nd that was supposed to help with the skin cancer, but unfortunately, he passed away a day after the surgery. Bell was 20 years old.
Bell's death brings to light a few things. Everyday could be your last day on Earth. Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. The point I'm trying to make is that Bell is an example for everyone that life can be taken at anytime, so cherish the moments that you have on Earth. Make everyday count because not everyone is going to make it to the next day.
My condolences to the family, friends, students, teammates and coaches of Nick Bell. Gone too soon.
