Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio are considered by most the best boxers in the world. Both have enforced their will on all the boxing world, but they can't seem to get everything right to give everyone what they want to see. The latest turn in this saga has Mayweather fighting Miguel Cotto on May 5th and also has Money Mayweather calling out Pac-man and saying that he's ducking the fight in so many words. I don't know about you, but I'm sick and tired of hearing about this fight.
I've heard Mayweather run his gums about the potential fight. I've heard Manny's crew say some things as well. But the main thing in this whole equation is this: we're hearing a lot of talk but no action has been taken. We all know what the fight comes down to: money. The funny thing is both will be paid handsomely for a sport they love to participate in. Why not split the purse and make it happen? The worst that could happen is you both make a ton of money win or lose.
As a distant fan of boxing, the more this standoff goes on, the more interest I lose in this fight happening. And also, the more faith I lose in these two being nothing more than guys that can talk a good game to each other but not get in the ring and back it up. For the love of boxing, Mayweather and Pacquaio need to stop the talking and start the walking. Its sad that the most talented men in the boxing field could do a lot to save the game, but they can't let go of their greed. It's sickening.
